By using 1.4410 (UNS S32750 – F53 – 2507) you get a stainless super duplex steel that has extremely high resistance to various types of corrosion. It has good weldability and can be welded by several methods. The steel is widely used e.g. for propeller shafts, pump parts and piston rods.
The steel grade 1.4410 ( also called UNS S32750 , F53 and 2507) is a superduplex stainless steel characterized by higher contents of chrome, molybdenium and nickel than standard duplex steels, resulting in increased corrosion resistance. These steels were developed for applications in aggressive chloride environments. They also have high mechanical strength and low thermal expansion due to the duplex structure.
Some typical application areas for 1.4410 are:
- Propeller- and Pumpshafting
- Pump- and Valveparts
- Oil- and gas industry
- Sea water systems
- Pulp- and Paper industry
- Chemical Industry
Good weldability
It has good weldability and can be welded by using most of the welding methods used for austenitic stainless steels. You shall use ISO 25 9 4 NL or something similar as filler metal when you weld. The steel can be both cold and hot formed. It is more difficult to machine than common austenitic steel. Machining shall be performed with high-speed tools.
Certificate
The steelworks has certificates as an approved material supplier of this steel grade from DNV and Lloyd’s. 1.4410 is also an approved material according to NACE MR0175 which is an American standard within the oil- and gas industry.
We offer steel grade 1.4410 in the following profiles
Steel grade 1.4410 is available as machined round bar in dimensions 20 – 200 mm.
